Assagay Country Guest House is a 3 star SA Tourism graded establishment and a proud member of 1000 Hills Tourism, 1000 Hills Accommodation Network, KZN Tourism and the National Accommodation Association.

We are situated halfway between Durban and Pietermaritzburg, just off the N3 and M13 highways close to the Valley of 1000 Hills, Hillcrest, Shongweni, Summerveld, Pinetown and Hammarsdale. We are 20 minutes from Durban’s beaches, 30 minutes from Pietermaritzburg, 40 minutes from King Shaka Airport and the modern new Hillcrest Private Hospital is 1km away.

Our accommodation with either bed & breakfast or self-catering facilities is equally suitable for a relaxing family getaway or for the discerning business/sports person visiting the area.

Set in 4 acres of gardens with horses, fish pond and birds and with outstanding views over the Assagay Valley to relax you, your friendly hosts, Maudelene and Mark, invite you to a spacious and comfortable home away from home. The property is fully fenced with electric gate and safe covered parking.

We are a 3 minute drive to Hillcrest with its variety of modern shopping and entertainment centres, the Heritage Supper Theatre, or drive through Botha’s Hill with its pubs, a cultural Zulu Village with crocodile farm, restaurant and game park, the famous Comrades route and stunning views of the 1000 Hills Valley. For the equestrian sports enthusiasts we are 2 minutes from the famous Shongweni Polo/Show sportsgrounds. Go further on to Shongweni dam for fishing and boating and of course not to forget the many great golf courses close by.

Unit 1

2 or 3 sleeper upstairs unit. Main bedroom with king or twin beds, LCD TV with DSTV, heater/overhead fan, alarm radio clock. En-suite bath/shower room.

Unit 2

2 or 3 sleeper upstairs unit. Main bedroom with king or twin beds, LCD TV with DSTV, heater/overhead fan, alarm radio clock. En-suite bath/shower room.

Unit 3

2 or 3 sleeper. Downstairs unit consisting of main bedroom with king size bed, en-suite shower room, LCD TV with DSTV, heater/fan, alarm radio clock.

The Garden Cottage

4 to 6 sleeper. Large main bedroom with king or twin beds. Second bedroom with twin beds. Plenty cupboards. Lounge/dining room with two double sleeper couches, TV with DSTV. Large family shower room.


Terms & Conditions

BOOKING, CANCELLATION AND NON-ARRIVAL POLICY
A minimum deposit of 50% of the booking quote is required to secure a booking. The deposit is to be paid by EFT (banking details on invoice or on request), or cash, or you need to furnish us with credit card details, ie, credit card no. with expiry date and CCV no.

Like all Hotels and Guest Houses we have a Cancellation policy in place to protect us against cancellations. We only have a few rooms and cannot make up for lost business. We have a live calendar with WebServ. Once accommodation is booked it is no longer available to sell. If cancelled for whatever reason, you will be liable for payment as laid out in the table below, whether we have a deposit from you or not. Verbal and email bookings are binding as a confirmation of the booking. Please make sure you or your clients are aware of our policy before accepting accommodation at our establishment.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Guests agree on behalf of themselves and the members of their parties that neither the establishment, its owners, employees, nor agents shall be responsible for any injury or death of any person or the loss or destruction of or damage to any property upon the premises, whether arising from fire, theft or any cause and by whomsoever caused or arising from the negligence (gross or otherwise) or wrongful act of any person in the employment of the guesthouse. Any damage caused by guests to inventory, property or premises due to bad behavior or carelessness, or keys/gate remotes lost and replaced for security reasons will be for the guest’s account.
