General Camping Information
Camping is allowed only at designated campsites.
A no-cost permit is required and camping subject to permit provisions.
Permits may be obtained through the online reservation system at or by calling the South Regional Office at (561) 625-5122, during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. ET).
Permits may be obtained up to 14 days in advance.
Total length of stay is 14 days in any 30 day period.

Designated Campground Information
There are two designated camping areas on the John C. and Mariana Jones/Hungryland Wildlife and Environmental Area in Martin and Palm Beach counties with a total of 6 campsites: the Coreopsis camping area contains 5 roadside primitive tent only campsites with no amenities and is accessed by the main entrance/Road 6S. An ADA vault toilet and pavilion with picnic table are located at the main entrance; the Rudbeckia camping area contains 1 roadside primitive tent only campsite with no amenities and is accessed by Gate 2/Road 3. There is a small pavilion with a picnic table approximately 0.1 mile from the campsite.
All camping equipment is to be contained within the boundary of the designated campsite. Vehicles must be parked adjacent to or within the campsite. FWC asks all visitors to haul out what you hauled in. Please keep these natural areas natural.
Any violation of permit stipulations may result in cancellation of the permit and/or in citation. Permits are also subject to cancellation if campsites are left unoccupied for more than 48 hours during permitted dates.

Permit Provisions
All WEA rules and regulations must be observed.
Only tents may be used for camping.
A maximum of six people/two tents allowed per campsite.
All equipment must be contained within the boundary of the designated campsites.
No person shall bring lumber, fence posts, wood pallets, sheet metal or other building materials, onto the area or erect permanent or semi-permanent structures.
Permit holder is responsible for the actions and/or violation of permit provisions of all persons using the campsite.
Cutting of vegetation and standing trees (alive or dead) is prohibited.
Store all food and garbage in a manner that will prevent access by wildlife.
Dogs are allowed but must be kept under physical restraint at all times.
No person shall burn lumber, fence posts, wood pallets or other building materials. All camp fires are to be extinguished before leaving campsite.
Camping permit must be displayed in a manner visible to law enforcement and FWC area staff.
All trash must be hauled out of the area.
Littering and disposing of any waste products such as graywater, petroleum products, toxic materials, batteries, etc. is prohibited.
Any violation of permit provisions may result in permit cancelation and/or citation.
Campsites left unoccupied during a permitted period are subject to cancelation.
