About Wilderness Lakefront Resort

Our cabins on Broken Bow Lake are secluded, surrounded by the woods with Turkey creek to the North and the main river channel to the East. Guests can access the lake from the hiking trail or use the boat ramp that is 3/10 of a mile away in the McCurtain county Wilderness Area.

Guests will experience the park like atmosphere in clean, comfortable cabins that are fully furnished and include a kitchen, bathroom, and heat/AC. Outside, each cabin provides guests a grill, picnic table, and fire pit ring. Guests can swim in the swimming pool, play horseshoes, hike, fish, and enjoy the scenic views. We strive to offer the best cabins on Broken Bow Lake for guests to getaway.

Terms & Conditions

Our goal is to provide a clean, safe and enjoyable environment for guests while keeping our pricing affordable. By reserving a cabin at Wilderness Lakefront Resort, you agree to abide by the policies. We ask that you read these policies prior to your arrival. Relax and enjoy your stay!

Check out is 11:00 AM. Checking out after 11:00 AM is subject to a $100 per hour late checkout fee. To provide clean and comfortable accommodations checkout time is firm so that our staff can clean, maintain and restock the cabin.

Check in is after 3:00 PM: Early entry to the cabin or property is not permitted.

Reservations, Cancellations, Changes: A nonrefundable deposit of $50 is required for each reservation. Changes and Cancellations must be made at least 7 days in advance by calling 580-241-5304. If a reservation is cancelled with less than a 7-day notice, 100% of the reservation balance will be charged. Card on file subject to payment 7 days in advance.

Wilderness Lakefront Resort does not allow cancellations due to weather, lake conditions, boat ramp accessibility, or any other reason with less than a 7 day notice.

To make a reservation, you must be at least 21 years old, and the person reserving the cabin must present.

Rates/Maximum Occupancy: The rates listed on the website are based on the number of people that the cabin sleeps comfortably, fire code, and insurance. The number of persons over 12 years cannot be exceeded. All guests must be registered, including children. If you have a different number of guests from your reservation, please notify us prior to check in. Overcrowding is not allowed. Violation of these policies may subject property guest to immediate eviction from property without refund, require an additional cabin be rented depending on availability, or the additional guest(s) will need to leave the property. Additional guests over stated occupancy will be subject to $100 per night, per additional guest. Guests are not allowed to invite others to the property who are not on the reservation to visit.

Pets: Dogs less than 50 lbs. up to 2 dogs per cabin. The pet fee is $15 per night per pet. Pets are required to be on a leash while outdoors. Pets must be in a kennel when unaccompanied in a cabin. You must pick up after dogs and place waste in outside trash. And excess dog hair should be swept. Excessive or loud barking is not allowed. No aggressive breeds are allowed (For example, pit bulls or pit bull mixes, Rottweiler, German Sheppard, Doberman, American Bulldog, Huskies, Boxers, bull mastiffs, and Other Breeds). Dogs are not allowed in swimming pool area. You maintain responsibility for your pet while staying at the cabins. The cost to repair or replace damages due to pets will be charged to your account.

Missing Items/Damages: Missing items or damages to items belonging to the property will be charged to your credit card. These charges will include labor and replacement costs.

No Smoking in Cabins – all cabins are non-smoking. Evidence of smoking in the cabin is $200. Cigarette butts may not be left on the ground. They must be placed in the outside garbage cans $100 for cigarette butts left on the ground.

Excessive Cleaning: The basic cleaning fee is included in the price of your reservation; the additional fee is only applied if a cabin or the property is left in a dirty condition. Please leave the cabin in tidy condition. Tidy condition is defined as trash placed in trash can and/or outside garbage receptacles. Dishes are washed and put away. Furniture and fixtures are placed in their original location. Pet hair and excessive dirt is swept and discarded in trash. Cigarette butts are discarded in outdoor trash cans, not on the ground. Fish remains must be returned to the lake; do not put fish remains in trash cans or on cabin property. Placing fish remains in trash is $100. Trash (including bottles, cans, caps/lids, &amp; wrappers) should be placed in trash cans, not on the ground, fire pits or cabin property. Excessive Cleaning fees can range from $50 – $300.

Wildlife Encounters: Due to the location of our cabins in a forested area, there is a chance guests will encounter some type of wildlife, insects or stray animals. Each cabin is treated on a scheduled basis for interior pests, but due to the natural habitation of the forest, no refunds or compensation will be given for any problems resulting from pests inside or outside the cabin. If you see any insects in or around the cabin, please notify the office immediately, and we will be happy to spray. Do not feed, pet, or play with animals you may see around the cabin or permit them to enter the cabin. We are not responsible for any wildlife or insect encounters of any kind. Please bring emergency medicine necessary to treat guests with allergies to insect stings. Please spray with insect repellent while outdoors and hiking.

Swimming Pool: Children 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult at the swimming pool. Dogs are not allowed in swimming pool area. Glass is not allowed in the swimming pool area. You may play with pool toys; however, refrain from putting rocks and other potentially sharp items in the pool. Remove pool toys and floats prior to leaving pool area and clean up any trash. No lifeguard is on duty. Safety at the swimming pool is guest responsibility. Swimming pool is open Memorial Day weekend – Labor Day Weekend or as the weather permits.

Camp fires – you may have a fire that fits in the fire ring at the cabin or in the built-in fire pit areas. Please keep your fires under control and of a manageable size. You may pick up sticks on the ground for your fire; however, you may not damage trees for firewood. Damaging a tree on the property will result in a charge of $100-$300. You may not use leaves to start your fire as they create a forest fire danger. Fires are not permitted when burn bans or high fire risk conditions are in place. We do not permit guests to bring their own firewood per state law due to the possibility of introducing tree killing insects and diseases.

ATVs – No riding ATVs, dirt bikes, or other motorized vehicles on the property. Recreational vehicles must remain on trailers while on the property. Trails are available for riding please contact the Ouachita National Forest at 580-494-6402 or stop by the office at Hwy 259 and Hwy 259 A South M-F 8-4:30 for more information regarding trail riding.

Respect other guests – Please do not have loud outdoor music or activities that could disturb other guests. Property common areas (pavilion, swimming pool, playground, horseshoe pits, fish cleaning station, etc.) are to be respectfully shared. (With social distancing)

Fireworks- Due to the woods surrounding the property, fireworks are not safe and are not permitted. This includes sparklers and ones that pop on the ground.

Shooting firearms- Shooting guns, including BB guns and air guns, is unsafe and not permitted. Hunting by licensed hunters is allowed in the national forest during hunting seasons by licensed hunters.

Parking- Parking is available at each cabin for 1 vehicle. Please park in designated parking areas. The cabin property has septic systems, waterlines, and other utilities buried. If you will have additional vehicles or trailers/boats, please ask us prior to check in so that we can determine safe parking spaces. Wilderness Lakefront may limit the number of boats/vehicles to maintain safety.

Boats- Boat trailers must be chocked. Please do not use rocks to chock your boat. It CAN roll! We are not responsible for the lake level or accessibility of the boat ramp. Please check the lake conditions and be prepared. No refunds or cancellations will be given due to lake conditions or boat ramp accessibility. Wilderness Lakefront Resort is not responsible for guest’s boats.

Wilderness Lakefront Resort makes every effort to ensure that all amenities are in working condition; however, refunds will not be given for malfunctioning amenities. We will replace or repair if possible. We will contact companies who provide services like electric, water and internet, but are not responsible for 3rd party providers and cannot offer refunds due to utility outages.

Most cell providers do not provide coverage in the area. There is a landline phone at the office that can be used by guests. Internet is available in common areas like the pavilion.


Wilderness Lakefront Resort Cabins is not responsible for guest injury or damage or loss of personal property of guests. Failure to comply with property policies may result in additional fees or eviction from the property without refund. By reserving a cabin, you hereby authorize the credit card on file be charged for the reservation plus additional fees that apply as described in the policies.
