You have to following payment/deposit options when deciding when you want to receive payment on a reservation.

Full Payment

You can require your customers to make a full payment at the time of reservation.  This is a great option for lower cost products or services such as a daily bike rental or tour.

Partial Payment

You are able to easily set up a required amount needed at the time a reservation is made within the system.  This deposit can be a percentage of the total or a set dollar amount.  When a reservation is made, the amount or percentage you specified will be shown in the rate details, and the remaining balance will also be displayed.  In addition, you can set the reservation to remain pending until full payment is received.  In which case, you will manually go into the system to confirm the reservation after full payment is made.  This option is typically used for more expensive rentals and lodgings.

Staggered Payment

In addition to setting up a deposit at the time of booking, you can also indicate that an additional amount is due at a specified time frame prior to arrival, i.e. 7 days. This works well to ensure that you will get your payment for the product before your customers arrive and gives your customers the ability to make payments for your product which is a nice selling point when deciding to book with your business or not.

Credit Card on File

The system gives you the option to hold a reservation with a credit card but not require payment at the time of reservation.  If you have set up credit card processing through WebReserv and a merchant account provider compatible with WebReserv, you can take the card information at the time of reservation, and charge the full payment when customer arrives.  In addition, you can designate that if a customer doesn’t show up or cancels the reservation that a percentage of the payment will be due.  This will ensure your business will receive some payment for the reservation especially if it is cancelled close to the reservation date and you are not able to rebook the spot.

No Deposit

This option allows the customer to make a reservation in the system, but the payment of cash or check is done manually between the business and customer.
