Well, since this was our 15th year of staying at Pope's, I guess you could say we love it there. We stayed in the "big house" again this year and found it nicely updated with a new kitchen stove, sink and counter. Place was clean, nice beds ( 4 double beds and 4 twins!) so plenty of room for our big group. Our group did fairly well fishing-mostly pan fish, nothing big. The biggest bonus is the beautiful lake. Loons and the resident eagle were seen daily. Pope's is quiet, nothing fancy, but perfect for us

 Nice old place

Nice place with old-time 1960s charm, stepping back into time. Nice and Quiet place, received a couple of channels on the TV using an antenna. Was told by the lady that I had to be a resident renter to participate in Wednesday night fish so paid for 4 nights at $75 a night for 2 people. Caught nothing but small throw back fish, fishing the morning and evening hours daily with an aluminum row boat provided that came with the cabin, which was nice. Lake was fished out by the time we had got there in middle of July, was told a lot of tall fishing stories which kept getting larger than reality. Would suggest to be there in May or June for better luck fishing. Nice cool nights in 60s for evenings in July on a bed that was ok. Place came with complete kitchen, gas stove and nice cold refrig,, an outdoor grill which could have been used, a picnic table, fire ring for night time fire, and front screened in porch with old chairs over looking the lake. Place is not far from town going south and nightlife(suggest Little Brown Jug) and north to Little Bohemia where John Dillinger was.

We had a great time This was our 1st time renting a cabin and we were very happy it was very clean. The owners and Basil friendly and wonderful. Enjoyed the beautiful views of the lake and the camp fire at night and the stars were amazing. We really enjoyed the fish fry best in Wisconsin Look forward to staying there again.

We had a very nice and relaxing week! Owners are very friendly and make you feel like your visiting family. Basil the family dog is so sweet when she comes and Visits. Waking up in the country air and having coffee in the screened in porch or on the pier watching the sun rise was the best. Fishing was a lot of fun and the cabins come with a row boat. Nice vacation at an affordable price. Also its close to towns that have mini golf, horseback riding & go carts. We definitely will be planning another vacation here.
